Rhodes, a beautiful Greek island, is one of my favorites. The island’s landmark is the Colossus of Rhodes. The Colossus was once considered one of seven wonders of ancient history. You can take a scenic parasailing flight or enjoy a refreshing dip in Rhodes Bay’s turquoise waters. This island is ideal for families or romantic getaways for two.
The castle of Rhodes is the most popular attraction. The Old Town, Europe’s largest medieval town, is also available to be visited. The combination of history, nature, and architecture will amaze you. The Colossus is also on the island, which is a giant statue of Helios. Beautiful caves and hidden bays are just a few of the many attractions you’ll find. There will be something for everyone, no matter how long they stay in Rhodes.
You can visit the Petaloudes in West Rhodes if you are interested in seeing the wildlife. This area is also known by the name “Valley of the Butterflies” because it hosts hundreds of butterflies each summer. Enjoy the sunshine and fresh air by taking a scenic nature stroll along the streams and creeks. Traganou beach has tiny white stones and clear water. A cave can be visited in the area during this time, where you will find an impressive rock formation.
Mandraki harbor in the city is home to many of the island’s greatest historical sights. The Colossus was once the home of Rhodes’s Colossus. It was destroyed by an earthquake 226 BC. In this harbor once stood the Colossus Of Rhodes, a statue depicting the Greek sun-god Helios. Today, the museum here is dedicated to the city’s rich historical past.
